The Artists Rights Alliance said: “Today’s historic transfer of almost half a billion dollars in unmatched royalties to the MLC is a great start – but there’s a lot of work still to be done to get that money to the songwriters that earned it. We are grateful to the Copyright Office team that skillfully and doggedly worked through a number of complex issues in the months leading up this transfer, including major disagreements about the proper treatment of past industry settlements”.  Leave a comment

THE UK LIVE MUSIC INDUSTRY HAS JOINED FORCES TO FORM ITS OWN INDUSTRY BODY, KNOWS AS LIVE.

This newly established federation will be the future voice of the UK’s live music economy. Membership is made up of 13 principal industry associations across the sector, representing 3,150 companies, over 4,000 artists and 2,000 backstage workers.

Greg Parmley (CEO, Live music Industry Venues & Entertainment), said: “It’s long overdue that the UK’s live music industry has a properly representative body, and LIVE will be that unified voice as the industry comes out of lockdown and beyond.
