“The track is characteristically well-produced with its smooth mixing of various sounds and groovy instrumentation.”
Three years after the success of their 2018 album For Ever, production duo Jungle, provide a taster of their much-anticipated forthcoming album…and it’s funky.
Keep Moving is the latest release from Tom “T” McFarland and Josh “J” Lloyd-Watson, filled with disco soul and brimming with the prospect of summer.
The track is characteristically well-produced with its smooth mixing of various sounds and groovy instrumentation. It’s got that characteristic Jungle sound with ethereal voices gliding over a consistent bounce of background drum rhythms. With funky bass guitar picking and synth-y string-like overtures that carry the melody throughout, there’s a distinct 70s vibrancy to the song. Layered chorus-like voices provide the euphoric hook, emphasising the positive outlook of the lyrics. Lines such as: “If I can’t understand it / I’ll find another way” inspire feelings of hope and encourage self-acceptance. Keep Moving is catchy and fun with a playful ‘got-to-dance’ attitude that feels almost remedial after the year we’ve all had.
Speaking on the upcoming album, McFarland said in a press statement: “With this record we’ve learned to trust our instincts and go with our gut.” Lloyd added, “We want it to be more raw, open, fun, enjoyable and entertaining, because that’s what music is.”
In keeping with their expanse of talent, the boys have directed the music video for the track, inspired by West Side Story.
Album, Loving in Stereo, is due for release on 13th August with Jungle touring the UK from September.
