‘More’ explores a highly relatable notion that will resonate deeply with listeners…’
Of all origin stories, Sam Ryder’s is perhaps one of the most compelling, as this highly gifted musician got his start at the very same moment the world was being plunged into lockdown. March 2021 saw Ryder upload his first cover to YouTube, gaining instant recognition from the likes of Justin Bieber, Sia and Elton John. The rest is history. From being crowned most popular account on TikTok 2020 to having amassed a following of over 10 million on social media, Ryder is taking the music industry by storm.
Now releasing original music, he’s back with his new single ‘More’. The track accompanies an official lyric video on Ryder’s YouTube channel, and follows previous singles ‘Whirlwind’ and ‘Tiny Riot’. Commenting on the inspiration behind the record he says; “Life’s ornaments can distract us from life’s treasures… and that’s what I wrote this song about.”
Clearly established in the lyric video by exuding emotion and unity, ‘More’ explores a highly relatable notion that will resonate deeply with listeners. With lyrics such as: “There’s not enough time, in one life…” and “the silver hair and golden years that seem so far until they’re near, there’s so much left to do…” reminds us to live in the here and now.
The gradual increase in tempo, sustained throughout creates an urgency that makes you pay attention to the lyrics. Ryder’s signature powerhouse vocals lead the way, breaking off into that perfect falsetto as an introduction to the sudden, powerful drum beat that leads toward each chorus.
With an EP set for release later this month, Ryder is sure to expand his fan base much further, reaching all corners of the globe. Co-written with Red Triangle (James Arthur, Charlie Puth), Wayne Hector (Sigma) and produced by Freedo and Red Triangle also, ‘More’ is available now on all streaming platforms via Parlophone Records/Elektra Records. Debut EP coming 24th September.
