Vistas first release of 2021 – and the first glimpse of new music since their debut album’s release almost one year ago – sees the trio back and better than ever with a new indie-pop track, Start Again.
The new single hints at what is in store later this year for the band and their biggest headline tour to date, which has had to be rescheduled to September/December 2021.
Known for light-hearted, fast tempo tunes that are sure to get crowds moving, they return with yet another toe-tapper that will get stuck in your head for days. Never shying away from strong musical influence, the likes of Two Door Cinema Club’s style rings true from the first note to the last.
Lead vocalist and frontman, Prentice Robertson, said that Start Again was one of the first that he wrote whilst taking time away from writing: “It is essentially a song about having writer’s block and the feelings that come along with worrying where your next idea is going to come from. I think getting this song down really helped to unstick any writer’s block I was having and oiled the wheels of everything that would follow on from this track”.
Start Again ensures no disappointment among fans, and instead, provides a track that highlights exactly what the band excel at – mood-enhancing tunes. The recognisable guitar plucking of Dylan Rush opens the track and is soon followed by the familiar vocals of Robertson; with bassist, Jamie Law, building on these to really polish the jovial, animated melody. The lyrics are as catchy as always and manage to bring the feel of live music back, despite its absence – proving how prepared the band are to be back on the stage.
Vistas’ comeback is not one to be overlooked as the band go from strength to strength, and show their fresh start is one that is here to stay.
